Bridge Day 2013

We are very proud to have been selected by the Bridge Day organizers to take care of the “Tandem Base jumping” portion at this year’s event.

The first Tandem BASE jump in history occurred at Bridge Day 1984. The years since have been sprinkled with tandem BASE jumps being made around the world from various objects, proving the viability.

Bridge Day is going to be held on October 19th 2013 in Fayetteville, West Virginia, and it’s the largest extreme sports event and largest gathering of BASE jumpers in the world. More than 450 BASE jumpers from 10+ countries and 40+ US states will leap from the 876′ tall New River Gorge bridge during a 6 hour window from 9 am to 3 pm.

Only Ten (10) tandem BASE jump slots are available for Bridge Day 2013. For the third time in Bridge Day’s 34-year history, people with no prior jump experience will be able to make a BASE jump while attached to a highly experienced BASE jumping professional. Students will be able to experience approximately 2-3 seconds of freefall.

Followed by a 40-50 second canopy ride down the New River Gorge all the way to the bottom for your landing

Please remember that BASE jumping is not a totally safe activity, but history shows that it can be performed safely. In the last two years, 20 people safely performed a tandem BASE jump during the Bridge Day event, not to mention the 50 + that we have taken off the Moab cliffs since we opened up January 2012!
